GOD!

Prayer is a heart-to-heart-communication with God. When we pray, we turn to God, to uplift our minds and hearts. When we pray, we are drawn closer to God; we derive strength and direction from the Supreme Divine Energy. When we pray, we pray with faith that God responds to our prayers.

Prayer is a very personal experience. It fulfills our emotional and spiritual needs. It is also an acknowledgment that God is always present and, active in our lives. Hymns from scriptures and religious literature are a rich source for prayer and contemplation on God.

"The human race was born free, and yet, everywhere he seems to be in chains!" This race is perennially bonded in chains of misery and suffering, in greed and desire, in attachments and needs, in disease and death. There seems to be no escape. But, "Prayer and Faith" give the human mind great strength and confidence, a sense of well being, purpose and duty. Thus enabling one to face life and positively steer its course.

The effects of prayer are creative and cathartic to the mind and the body as well. According to one particular study, those who visited places of worship or offered prayers at least once a week, were happier, and had about 40 percent lower hypertension problems. While another study pointed out that regular visits to temples and places of worship and, participating in group prayers (Bhajans) would boost the immune system and would also increase one’s life span by seven to fourteen years!

Conscious thoughts like-"God protects us, God is watching us, God is always guiding us" can make one lead a less stressful life. The therapeutic value of prayer can be experienced by praying with faith, sincerity and devotion. "Prayer" is the answer to disorders of modern culture and the prevalent spiritual decay. Prayer is an ideal way to experience Ananda, or bliss, leading to the path of Bhakthi Maarga to achieve Moksha or salvation.

It is not mandatory to pray to God only when we are in stress or in trouble. Please have it as a practice to thank God for whatever he has provided you including the challenges which mould one and get best out of the person.

Also, it is a good habit to sacrifice time for God or in other perfect words, one must spare time for other activities as attaining bliss and reaching God is the purpose of our life. Money, material and family are important, the cycle of life ends where it began—the ultimate, GOD. So, praying to god and to sacrifice something to get his blessing is not bad, after all you are trying to get his attention towards you which will solve all of our problems. What else one needs other than having God’s attention on him?

What is Happiness?

Well, it depends on the person who wants to know what it is. The answer for most of the questions can be put under the banner "it depends" for which happiness is not an exception.

Let us see some more of happiness.

What is happiness?

As said above, the answer varies from person to person and depending on the need.

Who defines it?

The person who wanted the answer for the definition of happiness should define it.

When is it defined?

It varies from time to time. The need of the hour defines the happiness. For a second, we may think we want to eat something and become happy and content. But it changes after that. We may want a good job with a defined salary, but after that, we do not stop there. The happiness and desire grows within each and everyone and that keeps changing the definition of happiness.

Why should happiness change?

Happiness should keep changing to keep the man going. "Change is the only permanent thing in life!" So, happiness should also keep changing in one's life! The change in the happiness keeps the man challenging as he changes it after every achievement.

A student wanted to pass the 5th grade and once he achieves it, he becomes happy and celebrates it. But, that is not the end as he changes it to the next level to become happy.

Do not postpone the happiness!

In general, the happiness is postponed and not felt. Even small victories should be celebrated. Otherwise, the new challenges are drawn but the achievement is never recognized and celebrated.

If a person keeps postponing the happiness, he will never realize it and more importantly feel it. Only if a person feel it, he can pass it on to others, which is the important factor.

What should one do to become happy?

Be a good human being! That means, be a good citizen, follow the rules of the country you reside, respect fellow human beings, do not hate anybody, love others and more importantly love yourself.

Follow your consciousness and do not go against it! It will not allow you to sleep if you go against it!

Enjoy small victories! Enjoy the nature! Enjoy the beauty! Enjoy the smile! Enjoy playing with kids!

Help ohters! If you cannot, do not disturb others! If you can afford, help in the education of the kids, help poor people!

More importantly, if you do not distinguish between happiness and sad and treat both as same, you will always be happy!

Be Happy and Enjoy the life! It is simple! It's the rule of the life!

What is Positive Thinking?

"Positive Thinking"--many of us in this globe talk about, advise others, keep in training manual. What is positive thinking? Several leaders have talked about being and staying positive regardless of the situation.

A person who is dead bed is asked to be positive. There were quite a few stories which talks about how the life changed for people who stay positive.

What is important is the thought that generates in the mind. If the thought is good, the words we speak becomes good, the actions we do become good and people around us look good and the entire environment becomes good.

Just imagine that one has failed in an attempt--it may be sports or career or exam. If he/she think that is the end of the world and everything is over, yes, it will be over. But, on the other hand, the person thinks that the journey is not over and it is just a temporary set back, he will be having more energy than before and go after task to make it a success.
